Meet the Pong Watch, a homemade watch-sized thingy with an impressive version of Pong running on it. Apparently you cant play with it just yet and it doesn't tell the time, but other than that it's a bloody brilliant project fully documented at a nice website and through a YouTube video.

It tells time, but just doesn't keep it too well right now. Like the pong clock, the score is the time -- the right side scores a point every minute, and the left side scores a point every hour.
The oscillator isn't quite set up right, so it'll stop for a few minutes every day. I think I can fix this in software.
True, you can't actually play a game. I think playing against the computer is too boring - it's more fun to play someone else. But, if I made a round version and made the rotating bezel (like on a diver's watch) the paddle controller, that would be awesome.

ReplyDeleteWow you have awesome appeal my friend!
To be honest my friend, I wouldnt know who this John is, but he sure looks like he knows a few things... Perhaps he's just highly perceptive :)
ReplyDeleteYep, I'm the guy who made the watch.. I wish I were that perceptive :-)
ReplyDeleteI, on the other hand, wish I could be as tech-savvy and imaginative as you... :)
