The Bundle In A Box Adventure has Begun!

The time has come for this blog to post something that has absolutely nothing to do with gaming on the go. Odd, I know, but I simply had to let you know that Bundle In A Box - Adventure Bundle has been unleashed! I have been working on it for the past few months, think it turned out rather fantastic and, well, decided I should let you know. I hope you will tolerate this slight deviation...

The bundle, a pay-what-you-want affair, offers seven DRM-free adventure games, including The Sea Will Claim Will Everything (that's making its exclusive debut), Gemini Rue, Metal Dead, Time Gentlemen, Please! and the text-adventure 1893: A World's Fair Mystery. It will also support a most important charity and the Indie Dev Grant. Also, it's lovely!

Dejobaan and Radial Games announce Monster Loves You!

Happy news indeed, as Dejobaan (the creators of the utterly brilliant AaaaaAAaaaAAAaaAAAAaAAAAA!!!) and Radial Games (responsible for lovable indie hit Steambirds) announced Monster Loves You! for mobile devices. The game will apparently be a Tamagotchi/RPG hybrid and, if I were you, I'd watch this space for more news on the thing. Colour me excited!

Wings Of Valor iOS

16-bit classic Wings of Fury has been renamed Wings of Valor and happily upgraded for your iPhone. You can grab it over at the App Store for $1.99 and enjoy its brilliant shoot-'em-up gameplay, its interesting strategic options and those detailed retro-tastique graphics. Mind you, this is one of the few action games that allow for such excellently fluid controls. Highly recommended!

Well, I'm about to relive them, you know, as Scotland Yard has happily been ported over to the iPad and iPhone in what seems like a truly brilliant adaptation. The game sports a brand new extra setting, iPad 3 Retina support, multiplayer, single-player, a fantastic interface, a tutorial and more.

Machinarium finally on Android

Well, it was bound to happen. After spreading point-and-click love on computers and iThings, the excellent Machinarium adventure game simply had to appear on Android. Happily, it just did and you can now grab Amanita Design's magnum opus over at Google Play. Expect wonderful hand-drawn graphics, tough puzzles and a touching plot involving robots and weird cities.

VVVVVV enters Europe

Brilliant platformer VVVVVV has finally made it on the European 3DS eShop and I'm pretty sure I can hear the celebrations on the streets. It is, after all, both the very best platform game since Manic Miner and a perfectly ported and updated offering. Grab it, grab it now!

Meganoid Free (Android)

Meganoid Free is a lovely looking and rather retro-inspired platformer for Android, that surprisingly sports some pretty decent controls. To make up for this though, it does also come with some deviously designed levels and a difficulty setting meant to challenge the very best of us. Grab it here; it's free.

Putty Squad (PS Vita)

Putty Squad made it to the SNES back in 1994, but never appeared on the Amiga 1200, where it was bound to truly shine. Happily though and as the trends of the era demand, it has been revived for the handheld market and will soon be appearing on Sony's PS Vita. The game will feature all sorts of enhancements including new graphics, a touch-screen map, more than a few gaming modes, location-based activities, online leaderboards and trophies. It will of course remain a beautiful and well designed platformer... Find out more here.

Oh, and apparently a fully playable demo will also be released. As for the game's release date, well, it should be announced soon.
