Remote play (?) PS3's Lair on your PSP

Can't see the point, don't know if it's true, but it sure looks just as intriguing as a particularly intriguing thing. Apparently, it's Lair and its very next-gen visuals on the humble PSP's screen, even though the PS3 is pushing all these polygons. Have a look for yourselves @ the Lair on PSP!!! thread over at the PlayStation.com forums.

  1. I too can't see the point of putting a next-gen game in such a small screen and with such control issues.

The game looks nice, though. As a dragon maniac I sure would like to play it.

  2. Well rumor (reviews actually) has it it's a rather shite game I'm afraid. Definitely top eye-candy though...

  3. I think remote play is a great feature actually. You say you can't see the point yet it means you can continue your game while you're away from your PS3. Of course there's a drop in visuals but from what I can see it still looks pretty damn good.

Apparently it controls better on the PSP than on the PS3 :S

  4. I think the worst is not the visuals, but the controls. L2 and R2 are needed for practically every game, with vital functions in most, so how can you play a game and have fun with it with such a handicap?

Lair is different, though. Since the greatest problem in the game is controlling the dragon with the 6-axis, being able to control it with the PSP's analogue is way better for most people.

But still, it lacks L2 and R2, and you can't finish most missions without those buttons.

gnome, I know what people are saying about the game, but still, I'm sure I would have a blast with it.

  5. I'd definitely have a blast with it too Nebacha, I just don't think it would be -say- of Bioshock quality... Oh, and I couldn't add much to the controls issue...

Tom, I'm not sure you can actually play the game without a fully operating PS3 nearby... If that's the case though, then, yes, I definitely see the point...

  6. Lair was dreadful no matter what console you play the game on.

  7. Being the Playstation master that you are dear funnyman, I think that's a more than weighty opinion. Thanks.

  8. I love Sony, but what the hell were they thinking with this game?

  9. Probably thinking to come up with the ultimate jaw-dropper, which apparently they did, even though it (allegedly) plays like shit. Oh, and why love a company, really?

  10. I thought you could use remote play over the internet as long as your PS3 was switched on at home?

The game doesn't allegedly play like shit. It is shit!!!

  13. You can't play the entire game from start to finish on the PSP. But then again, why would anyone want to?

  14. No reason I believe... Did you see the Reviewer's Guide for Lair? Hilarious...

  15. I read the guide at my local video game retailer, and it is useless. There are pictures on how to hold the PS 3 controller, but it will only cause more pain.

  16. Hehehe... the pain, the pain. Still, I could do with a PS3 even if Lair was all I had... BTW, think it's time for some link exchanges, innit?

  17. You see? Sony really DOES suck after all...

  18. Surely that was aimed at Funnyman, right Father?

  19. Yeah Sony sucks alright. Sony will suck the life straight out of the Wii in a few years, rendering the Wii frivolous and putting the Wii out of commission.

  20. By the way fatherkrishna, Nintendo is the one who sucks!!!
