Sony PSP 2000 (a.k.a. Slim, 2.0) available for preorder

Apparently Kotaku (dear, dear Kotaku) first noticed it and now I too am blogging about it. What's it? Well, thing is, the Sony PSP 2000 is already available for preorder over at Amazon.com with a very decent 170$ price-tag. The console will be released on September 10.

Also available for preorder are the seemingly lovelier than the not so exciting console upgrade itself Daxter and Star Wars Battlefront bundles.

  1. I am a big Sony fan. So I'll end up getting a PSP.

  2. Probably not a 2000 one though, eh?

  3. Is PSP 2000 the official name? Gosh...

  4. Not very smart, is it?

  5. Sony did say that the new PSP would be 33 % lighter than the original. The $ 170 price seems fair.

  6. Fair? Well, ok, even though it's way more expensive over here. The problem is I was anticipating something more like the DS update...

  7. What's not great about the DS? You can touch it, blow on it and shout at it! It's lovely!

Still I want a PSP too...

  8. Well, gotta agree with Father here, but that's beside the point. Wasn't talking about how good the DS is, but mostly what a huge upgrade its Lite version was...

You can do that with a PSP also.

  10. Yeah, funnyman, you can do those things to a PSP, but it won't do anything. :)

I like the PSP (I play my brother's), and I like the DS. They're both good, but I enjoy the DS a lot more because it has so many original games.

But has anyone seen evidence that the original PSP will drop in price once this PSP 2 is available?

  11. Why would anyone want to play the DS if you need to blow on it in order to make it work?

  12. A most perceptive observation dear guttertalk and most esteemed of colleuges. And still, I haven't managed to grab Etrian Odyssey yet...

Hehe, funnyman, well you had to blow your average NES cartridge too... ;)

  13. I never had to blow on my NES. I used rubbing alcohol. Blowing gives me a headache. I still don't see what is so great about the DS. Nintendo seems to be going downhill after the Gamecube.

  14. Aha rubbing alcohol, eh? Tsk... I on the other hand didn't care much for consoles back then... AS for Nitnedo... uhm... downhill? They are making tons of money and selling consoles by the million. Besides, there are tons of lovely and innovative DS games around. AS for the Wii, well, ok, time will tell...
