HALO DS

Amazingly, Nintendo DS owners almost got themselves a pretty decent looking version of Bungie's HALO shooter complete with interesting FPS controls, recognizable graphics and Wi-Fi multiplayer options. Not so amazingly, the game never got to hit the shelves and mankind lost the chance to marvel at another beautifully named product: HALO DS. Pity. Click here for more info, gameplay videos and a definitely more excited write-up.

  1. Well, when I saw those videos this morning I was pretty excited, hoping that some early version of the game had seen it's way onto the web.

    Right now I'm less excited

There are a lot of people out there talking about suspicious things about the videos (the scores never went up, the time never changed, the guy shot right handed guns with left bumber, etc...) and claiming it's nothing more than a Goldeneye DS mod.

  2. So, you think that's a fake then? Don't know myself... think it's the real thing, even though it still isn't so very interesting...

  3. This is what our dear Gagaman(n) said over at Racketboy's forum:

"Yeah, someone posted a video on Youtube comparing the Halo DS footage to the Golden Eye game, and in the comments someone who worked on the halo DS project posted about how they used that Rouge Agents engine to show to Microsoft a rough idea what it would be like, and that they would revamp it if the project got the go ahead."

  4. Seems very logical really... Not that I know what the Rogue Agents engine looks like, but it could just be a proof-of-concept thingy...

  5. Well, provided it is Halo, it would probably be the original one, though I just can't be sure...

  6. It has dual-wielding, so it got to be at least "inspired" in Halo 2. Also, the level shown looks a lot like a beach-themed level in Halo 2.

  7. I dunno, I would have liked to experienced a little Halo action on the DS, if it is real and never released? (Does that make sense?)

  8. Good eye NebachadnezzaR. That is dual wielding, so it has to be Halo 2.
