Touch of the Dead NDS

After having spent quite a few hours playing the universaly ridiculed Master of Knifing minigame in Resident Evil DS, I'm pretty sure I'll absolutely love the forthcoming Touch the Dead on-rails shooter for the Nintendo DS by Eidos. I mean, it will be lovely; in the way people loved Mr. Jackson's Bad Taste.

TotD
will even feature a shoddy 3d engine and zombies throwing the heads at the player, even though it would have been lovelier, were it a Sega product named The Tapping of the Dead. Anyway. Find out everything you need to know in this excellent Game Set Watch post.

  1. OOOHH!! This looks splendid! I would say that this will be my next DS purchase but I don't have enough will power to be able to say I'll wait till May! my impulse buying tendencies are far too strong for that! Having resisted buying Kingdom Hearts for PS2 this weekend, I crumbled and bought Harvest Moon for GBA. It was only £5 and has totally entranced the youngest of my brood who has been playing it avidly all weekend (although he doesn't really understand it and there was no manual with the game...).

I still haven't played the RE DS mini game as the only options on my title screen are for the original RE or the new RE DS version! I don't get the otpion to choose the mini game! Still all this Zombie talk has made me think that we should have a bot of RE DS video to watch. There was a link on my Land Of Illusion post, but I think it deserves a post on it's own...

  2. Better wait for some reviews first Father... Might not be as good.. then again, reviewers have been known to be overly strict...

Anyway. Are you sure there's no Master of Knifing option? That's very weird, really.

  3. Yep I'm sure just Classic and Rebirth! BAH! (You don't have to unlock it do you?)

  4. I wouldn't know really, as it's a used cartidge and perhaps its former owner unlocked it.

Now that you mention it though, the manual has nothing about it. Guess you might be right dear Father...

  5. If you choose the Rebirth option, there will be certain scenes in the game where the PoV shifts to first person and zombies keep coming at you in droves. You can do the stylus knife attacks then.

Judging by the number of zombies they dispatch during those scenes, it's a wonder they even need guns.
