Droidscape:Baslica (iOS) has been launched!

The game I've been working on for almost two years, the stop-motion animated iOS debut of indie ensemble Kyttaro Games, Droidscape: Basilica, has been launched on the App Store for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch and is lookng mighty fine (if I may say so myself). You can grab it for $0.99 (it's a launch week 50% off offer) over here:

Droidscape: Basilica is a stop motion animated puzzle-arcade game, set in a dystopian and mystical future, where chronomancers are battling corporations, and players have to guide a hand-sculpted droid through 60 levels. The game comes with a full soundtrack, the afforementioned stop-motion animated graphics, between worlds cut-scenes, exhaustively tested touch controls and the option to play hands-free via our experimental HeadTwister head-tracking technology.

Also the gameplay is pretty unique too, as the game is played in two distinct phases, testing both your puzzle solving skills and your reflexes.

Hope you enjoy it!

Zenobi Adventure Freebies for Android

Zenobi, the brilliant developer and publisher of indie text adventures for the ZX Spectrum (also for the Atari ST and of some graphical adventures), and the mighty Balrog that still runs the whole show have gone and published three lovely, freeware text adventures for your Android device:
- Behind Closed Doors 5 (direct .apk d/l)
- Behind Closed Doors 6 (direct .apk d/l)
- Bulbo's Unexpected Journey (direct .apk d/l)
You can download each of those humorous, satirical-fantasy romps either from the links provided above or from Zenobi Games. The games are still in beta and run fine, though coming in .apk format, you'll have to manually install them.

Amiga Games Coming to Android

It's been doing the rounds, but I picked this lovely bit of retro-gaming news up via Polygon: Amiga Games will be publishing a series of classic 16-bit Amiga games for Android devices. So, uhm, better expect 300 odd retro gems appearing on your touch-device pretty soon and let's all hope such classics as Sensible Soccer, Turrican, Superfrog and Shadow of the Beast make the cut.

Leisure Suite Larry Reloaded goes Mobile

Well, it's currently iOS only, what with the Android version pulled off of Google Play to get itself fixed, but the slightly awkward, slightly happy truth that the remake of the original Leisure Suit Larry has made it to touch-devices remains. If you have an iPhone, iPod touch, iPad and $4.99 you can grab Leisure Suit Larry: Reloaded here.

The game itself, a truly traditional point-and-click adventure, is the second remake of Al Lowe's Leisure Suit Larry; a game that itself was a re-imagining/parody of Sierra's Softporn. Now, I personally quite like how Reloaded came out and appreciate both the new graphics and the extra content, but make no mistake. This is a game for the people that loved the original and only them.

Oh, and the Android version should be up again soon too.

Kickstarting Unnamed 101

I like twin-stick shooters on touch-based devices, I like having RPG elements thrown into my action games, I certainly like the aesthetics of steampunk and would thus really like to see Unnamed 101 happen. It does after all look fantastic, has set itself a modest goal and will become available on both iOS and Android devices. Here's the kickstarter of the thing.

Keeping things simple, let me suggest you have a look at this most intriguing and visually excellent puzzle adventure: Jacob Jones and the Bigfoot Mystery - Episode 1. It's out for both iPhone and iPad, sells for a ridiculously low $0.99 and is impressive in a variety of ways, including in its writing.

The Droidscape: Basilica Story Trailer Unveiled

As you may already know, Droidscape: Basilica by Kyttaro Games, will be an ambitious puzzle-arcade game for iOS that will sport unique path-drawing/two-gameplay-phases mechanics, stop-motion animation, an impressively rich soundtrack and a fleshed out sci-fi setting. Well, what you see above is the first trailer of the thing; the story trailer.

As you may also be aware of I've been working on this one for over a year now, so, well, spreading the word would be deeply appreciated.

Droidscape: Basilica will be released for iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch very (very!) soon.
