The TouchArcade App

The biggest and most probably best iOS gaming site, TouchArcade, has finally unveiled its free-to-grab TouchArcade App. The app features reviews, news, access to the forums and even a particularly handy watch list.

Pandemic 2.5 iOS

A universal iOS app that let's you eradicate the global population is, well, universally nasty. Also quite brilliant in a misanthropic and very addictive way. To create your all-conquering virus all you need to do is spend $0.99 and grab Pandemic.

Go Robo! (iOS)

The amazing gaming blog that is OW Videogames has discovered something equally amazing: Go Robo! It's an iPad/iPhone release sporting robots, glowy graphics, dancing girls, amazing music and more than a few surreal surprises. Get it over at the App Store.

Meganoid Free (Android)

Meganoid Free is a lovely looking and rather retro-inspired platformer for Android, that surprisingly sports some pretty decent controls. To make up for this though, it does also come with some deviously designed levels and a difficulty setting meant to challenge the very best of us. Grab it here; it's free.

Putty Squad (PS Vita)

Putty Squad made it to the SNES back in 1994, but never appeared on the Amiga 1200, where it was bound to truly shine. Happily though and as the trends of the era demand, it has been revived for the handheld market and will soon be appearing on Sony's PS Vita. The game will feature all sorts of enhancements including new graphics, a touch-screen map, more than a few gaming modes, location-based activities, online leaderboards and trophies. It will of course remain a beautiful and well designed platformer... Find out more here.

Oh, and apparently a fully playable demo will also be released. As for the game's release date, well, it should be announced soon.

Battle Squadron (Android)

Glorious news for retro shmup lovers, as Battle Squadron, the classic 16-bit offering, has been released for Android. You can grab it over at Google Play for 3 euros and relive one of 1989's finest shooters.

Classic Frankenstein on iPhone & iPad

Mary Shelley's Frankenstein has been delicately approached by author Dave Morris and has been gloriously expanded and turned into a brilliant piece of interactive fiction that can be enjoyed on each and every iOS device out there. The illustrations accompanying this retelling of the romantic masterpiece are pretty much stunning and the provided interface quite a marvel. Now, be wise, and grab it over at the App Store.

Draw Something (Android)

Haven't tried it just yet, but I did notice that ueber-successful Draw Something has apparently made it to Google Play. Might just have a look myself. The idea of online Pictionary doesn't sound half-bad...
