Finally, the GP2X review

So, yes, it is a lovely little handheld indeed. It's perfect for emulation, sports some lovely indie and homebrew games, has great battery life and an excellent screen. Do find out more in my belated review over at Gnome's Lair.

The Zaku Interview

The best Gameboy Emulator for your Wiz

And arguably one of the best emulators already released for everyone's beloved Linux based handheld. It's called Lemonboy and you can download it for free from this lovely Wiz friendly place. The emulator has a ton of options, runs brilliantly in full speed and, besides the Game Boy and Game Boy Color, can even emulate that SNES Super Game Boy oddity thing. Mind you, I've already tested it with a variety of roms and they all loaded and played just fine. Brilliant!

Sherlock Holmes gets a DS adventure

Apparently, this new Frogwares production, is a new adventure game specially designed for the DS, that will make all you point-and-clickers happy with its length and quality. The full title is the rather intriguing Sherlock Holmes and the Mystery of Osborne House and you can find more about it over at its official site.

Alien Zombie Death on PSP Minis

Apparently, Alien Zombie Death got itself released and is available for all you PSP users with a thing for PSP Minis software. Besides, the game features Zombies. And Aliens. And Death. And Edge magazine thought it was pretty good too. As for me, I really think it's got a bit of Spectrum spirit in it.

Sonic Classic Collection DS

It seems this Sonic collection for the Nintendo DS, aptly titled the Sonic Classic Collection and squarely aimed at as hopeless SEGA nostalgics, is shaping up to be quite interesting. Possibly a bit overpriced, but definitely interesting. 

ZX Spectrum emulator for the iPhone

Well, we all know the iPhone has a ton of available games for it, and that some of them are even rather good, but we all have to admit that nothing can be compared to the thrills provided by Manic Miner. That's why iPhone owners should be excited to find out about iXpectrum. It's a freeware Spectrum emulator you can grab -complete with a Jonathan Cauldwell game- here. You can of course download thousands more of free classic games for it over at the excellent World of Spectrum.

Now, mostly to make sure you actually get excited, what follows is a video demonstration of the thing, co-incidentally showing off just what the iPhone can do in terms of emulation. Quite impressive really and iXpectrum seems to sport some decent virtual buttons too. Have a look:

SpaceBall: Revolutions (PSP Minis)

It's from Spain, sports retro-style graphics, what seems like an interesting soundtrack and some pretty weird gameplay. It's (quite obviously, really) SpaceBall: Revolution and it has made itself available as one of them new PSP Minis. Have a look at the official site. Very 80s!

Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing

It's all about an upcoming racer by Sega, and what you see above are some of the freshest screenshots released. For the Nintendo DS of course, but you've already figured that, hadn't you? Looks promising, though I'm pretty sure Mario Kart DS can feel pretty safe.

Sega Megadrive/Genesis Wiz Emulator

It's called Picodrive and it's absolutely brilliant. Possibly the best GP2X Wiz emulator I've tried to this day. Runs every 16-bit Sega game I've thrown at it with perfect sound and at full speed. Yes, even Sega (Mega) CD games. What's more, the interface is extremely simple and the emulator 100% freeware. Download it here.
